 Women's Ministry Leader: Peggy Goodnough

Peggy has been married 47 years to Ted and they have been blessed with 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.  She was saved in a Southern Baptist Church in Las Vegas Nevada in 1976. Most of her life she was a stay-at-home mom which allowed many opportunities for prayer, and the study and teaching of God’s Word to her children. Now, she serves alongside her husband at the Church at Sunsites, located in the village of Sunsites which is predominately a retirement community. She enjoys the opportunity to share her gift of teaching the love of God through stories, arts, and crafts, with many of the grandchildren who come to visit the people who attend here.

She believes that it is not only important to know about God, but it is also important to have an ongoing relationship with Him. Developing this relationship when children are young has always been at the top of Peggy’s priorities. Prior to their calling to the Church at Sunsites, Peggy used the gifts God gave her to serve in children's ministry in nursery, Sunday School, VBS, and singing with worship teams at churches that she and Ted attended.

She currently serves as worship leader, sings on the worship team, and is active in women’s ministry at The Church at Sunsites. And, is also currently pursuing certification as a biblical counselor through IBCD in order to serve in the area of biblical counseling and discipleship for women.

Peggy has always enjoyed gardening as a hobby, and especially loves growing lavender and making natural skin and healthcare products from the bounty God gives her from her lavender fields. She especially enjoys the blessing it gives for meeting many people and sharing God’s love at local Farmer’s Markets. Serving people just comes naturally to Peggy for she has never met a stranger. And, she always looks forward to meeting everyone who walks through the door, be it adult or child!

She has many favorite Bible verses that are dear to her heart and guide her in her walk with Christ. But, one stands out to everyone who knows her, for she lives what she knows is Truth. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NASB).
